THE BIBLE

he logic behind Exodus 20:3 is brilliant if applied to towards the Creator. If applied to anyone/anything else, it strikes as an ego-trip. Exodus 20:3 in the KJV reads “3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me.” Placing anything/anyone of a higher importance than Creator is simply putting the cart before the horse. Priorities in such instances are most certainly backwards. Does it mean to not show admiration for those other things? No. Speaking of keeping the proper order of horse and cart, Matthew 6:33 “33But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” Here Christ emphasizes the structure of “Spirit/Principles” FIRST yielding the results of a fruitful life. If I wait until my needs and desires are fulfilled before I am grateful, I will never have those needs/desires filled nor will I be grateful. If I am grateful for what I already have, all else is a blessing anyways, regardless of IF I acquire those needs/desires (which I will).
