What does Ecclesiastes 3:11 mean?
That is a lovely scripture, and it says a lot in a few words. Thank you for your question.
As humans, if we are living moderately happy lives, does anyone want to die young? Or does anyone, whatever his/her age, want to die tomorrow? Does any soldier want to die in battle?
I am 84 years old now, and, even though I am very ill, in pain and unable to do the things I could do - even a few years ago, I don't want to die. There are too many things I want to do - for myself, for others, and for my Father in heaven and his wonderful son.
If I were given another six months, there would be too many things still left undone for me to want to die. It is natural to not want to die. That is because the Creator has 'put eternity into our hearts.'
That is what the scripture means. Wanting to live forever is really a natural instinct in our hearts. This also becomes the motive when we search for the truth about Almighty God and His purpose for mankind; His purpose for this beautiful earth with all its animals, plants, oceanic wonders, and birds.
There is so much for us to learn in the brief t
