IS ALLAH the God of the Bible? The Quran alleges that the God of Islam, Allah, is indeed the God of Abraham and hence the God of Scripture, Yahweh Elohim. But is this the case?
No. Allah is not the same as the God of Christianity.
In Christianity God has revealed Himself as triune, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. The Son became incarnate, lived a human life, suffered and died to redeem us. And rose corporeally from the tomb, pouring out the Holy Spirit on His disciples. In this way God revealed the depth of His love for each one of us.
The Islamic god remains safely up in heaven, handing down edicts from on high. Promising a carnal paradise and threatening eternal torment for unbelievers. He is al-Jobbah, the Oppressor, and al-Mutakabir, the Arrogant one. The Muslim is a slave of Allah, not a beloved child of God.
The Qu’ran is a distorted rehash of sections of the OT. It rejects Christ as Son of God, denies his saving death on the Cross, and reduces him to a mere prophet, Isa.
