Does Hebrews 6:4-6 mean I can't return to God?

Yes, this was an early Christian belief, since abandoned. It means that if a person becomes a Christian and is baptised, thereby having his past sins forgiven through the crucifixion of Jesus, but then the person sins again, he can not be forgiven. To forgive a person twice would be like having Jesus crucified a second time. One could imagine that the reason for this harsh restriction was to ensure utmost compliance on the Christian community. It is also possible to imagine that the churches would have found themselves losing too many congregants, who were less than perfect, leading to a reassessment of this particular rule.
