Why do Jehovah's Witnesses lie and say Jesus died on a stake when the Bible clearly says cross? You asked Why do Jehovah's Witnesses lie and say Jesus died on a stake when the Bible clearly says cross?
As I'm not a Jehova's Witness, and several of them already addressed what they believe in a very articulate manner, I won't get into the particulars of the matter, however, I'd like to point out that the scriptures were not written in our modern languages, so all we have to rely on are translations, and sometimes translations of translations, with no original texts for verification.
Given that, absent a revelation from God or some additional evidence, I'd be very cautious about trying to force an interpretation of a word that is only clear in my language. I'd be even more cautious about calling others liars based on my own assumptions.
While I don't share some of their beliefs, or yours for that matter, far it be from me to make personal judgment of my fellow brothers and sisters based on what they sincerely believe. Remember that we'll be judged with the same measure we use to judge others, amd you wouldn't want to be judged if your sincere beliefs turned out to be not exactly right.
