Does John 6:62 mean that Christ existed in heaven before his incarnation in a human body?

Yes, John 6:62 means that the one we came to know as Jesus Christ existed in the heavens before he was born as a human being. If I understand correctly, incarnation means: (1) the union of divine and human nature; (2) the appearance of a god or a spirit in an earthly form; (3) embodied in flesh or taking on flesh.

Christ did not “take on” human flesh; he did not “appear” in an earthly form while continuing to be a god or a spirit; and he did not unite divine nature and human nature. The one who became Jesus (Yehoshua) Christ (anointed) developed as an embryo in the body of a female human; was literally born as a human; and grew up to be a human man. He was thoroughly human; he did not wear humanity like a cloak and he did not “appear” as a human. He was one hundred percent human - a perfect human - what the Bible calls “the last Adam.” 1 Corinthians 15:45. This is why he could provide the corresponding ransom sacrifice. His life force was miraculously transferred to the womb of the Jewish virgin Mary.
