Why won’t Jesus give the exact date when he will return?

We know the exact month and year that Jesus returned. The great majority however do NOT want to hear it or accept it.

The beginning of the Gentile Times and the final destruction of Jerusalem and the Temple in 587 BC are two separate events. The Gentile Times began when Babylon conquered Jerusalem and the last king of the line of David lost his throne and became a vassal to Babylon. That was in 607 BC. Now how do we support that?

History confirms that Babylon fell to Cyrus in 539 BC. In Ezra 1:1–4 the return of the Jews to Jerusalem began on the first year of king Cyrus of Persia. Daniel 9:1–2 confirms that the return of the Jews from the destruction of Jerusalem to the start of rebuilding was 70 years.

When was the first year of King Cyrus? When Cyrus the Great conquered Babylon he took the title King of Babylon which allowed him to make himself emperor of all Persia. Therefore, Cyrus the Great began his “new reign” in 539 BC. His first year would be 539 - 538 BC. It took close to a year for all the Jews to return to Jerusalem and begin to rebuild the city and Temple, 538 - 537 BC.
