According to the Bible, how old is the Earth?

The Bible says the Earth was created “In the beginning”, it doesn't give a specific time. The creative days started at some time after that. Were they 24-hour days? I don't think so! An earth day is 24 hours. These were not Earth days. Everyone of the first six days that God created on, came to an end except for last one, the seventh. On the 7th day he proceeded to rest. 4,000 years later the Apostle Paul was still talking about living in God's rest day. It appears that God's rest day will end when He can say everything is good. For certain that would not be now. A day in the Bible can be various periods of time. In Genesis the Bible speaks of the “day” that God created the heavens and the Earth. Now that was a long day. God's rest day will end when everything is the way God intended it to be. That has at least 1,000 more years to go if you read revelation chapter 20 and 1st Corinthians chapter 15 verses 24 through 28. According to the radioactive element in the rocks that they use for dating, the Earth is approximately 4.5 billion years old. The moon rocks show the same age. This is not out of harmony with what the Bible teaches.
