Pakistan's Home Minister Mohsin Naqvi said on Saturday that an Israeli drone attacked an LPG tanker docked at a Yemeni port, carrying 27 crew members, including 24 Pakistanis. On the social media platform X, Naqvi said, "On September 17, 2025, an Israeli drone attacked an LPG tanker docked at Ras al-Eisa port (under Houthi control), carrying 27 crew members (24 Pakistanis, including Captain Mukhtar Akbar, 2 Sri Lankans, and 1 Nepali)."

It is reported that the crew extinguished the fire when an LPG tank exploded, but the ship was intercepted by Houthi boats and the crew members were taken hostage. According to Naqvi, the tanker and its crew have now been released by the Houthis and are now out of Yemeni waters.
