Matthew 5:48 tells us that we must be perfect, but how can we if we all have fallen short of the glory of God?
Well apparently he ran away and founded a city in Nod didnt he?
So Cain was the first born to Adam and Eve
He had a younger brother named Abel
Cain tended the crops and Abel tended the livestock
They both gave offerings to God, but God was only favourable to Abel's offering while Cain's wasn’t accepted which made Cain jealous, so in a fit of rage Cain said to Abel “Let us go out to thd field” and then rose up against him commiting fratricide and becoming the first murderer
He feined ignorance of his brother's whereabouts and fate saying “Am i my brother's kerper” but he couldn’t hide it from god
For Cain's actions God cursed him to wander the land and for the land to be unproductive for him, God also placed a mark upon Cain so that other would recognise him and as protection from others thst may want to do harm to him
Cain eventually made his way to Nod (which means wandeting) whete he founded a city, somehow he acquired a wife in his journeys (some suggest that she may have been a close relative or from other(?) people that were around at the time) and he fathered Enoch
While Cains fate isnt specified some traditions say that he has to continue his wandering until judgement day ither traditions say that Cain's descendent were wicked as well as unruly and that he's line was severed during the deluge and then some traditions have a rather racist interpretation of Cain's decendents
The story, like most of the bible, is kind of vague in parts and serves as a parable and is full of metaphors that are open to interpretation
There are parallels with a Sumerian myth involving the gods.Enlil, Emesh and Enten also with the of the decendents of the Demiurge Yaldabaoth being the archons YHWH and Elohim and discussion in that it represents a time petiod when people were starting to become civilised and implement agriculture forsaking the decadent and dsngrtous life of wandering the land
