The Bible says that homosexuality is a sin. So why do so many Christians just straight up DENY that it is? As Christians, we love the person but hate the sin. We are not supposed to IGNORE the sin, or deny the fact that it is one. So why?
As a Christian can I just say I know what the bible says, now what is God saying?
I think we have missed the point of a personal relationship with God. We are still treating him like he is afar off. We act as though he showed up, dropped off the bible and then left. We are still operating under the law when we are set free from it.
I know several people who are gay or bisexual. I have yet to have God move me to condemn them. They have had enough condemnation. None of it has made them straight. They have felt condemned, accused, crushed and in one case suicidal but no less gay. In our home they found a safe place and they got better. Of the two of these which one was God?
What you describe law without Christ, a religion without the spirit. You follow the letter and miss the intent. Remember we are called to cloth the naked, set the captives free, feed the hungry, tend to the sick and wounded. Where in this do you hear condemnation according to your own sense and reason?! Are we all not sinner, fallen short?! Do we not all stand convicted and condemned?!
‘He is without sin let him cast the first stone.’
I know I cannot. Where the father leads I will go and if he wants to correct another he will, in his own time. We can demand another change their behavior and their heart will remain. If you want to witness to Christ deal with the needs and troubles of today. The marginalized, the ignored, the bruised, the broken, they do not need more of your condemnation. Take them in, cover them, feed them, care for them. If God would have you do more he will tell you. Until then set aside your petty judgements, your arrogant prejudice and be a servant.
