Why does the Bible make so many scientific errors if it was influenced by God?

 

If you take Melville’s Moby Dick as a treatise on whale anatomy, you will find it chock full of errors. He thought whales were fish!

But as a story which speaks to obsessive hatred and self-destruction, Moby Dick is a masterpiece.

God inspired the Bible’s authors to proclaim God’s will, love and redemption. It isn't an expose on the fossil record or physics.

Physically, this was a routine execution. Spiritually, it was an exceptional event, the death of God incarnate, which earned redemption for all people, everywhere, forever.
