If Yahweh can't kill Satan because he respects his free will to be evil, then why did he curse all mankind to die for Adam's sin, instead of respecting his free will and letting him and his offspring live forever? Does Yahwe like Satan more than us?

I thought that Satan was originally an angel… and that angels didn’t even HAVE free will…

But, then, as I understand the story, Lucifer was originally “Gods best and most favorite angel”… and then Lucifer decided to lead a revolution against God… and as a result was exiled… but then somehow put in charge of Earth. This sure seems to raise a WHOLE BUNCH of interesting questions…

  • Why did God’s best and smartest angel decide to revolt? (Maybe he knew something we don’t. Maybe Lucifer KNEW that God was doing a bad job??? Hmmm…)
  • Being “all-knowing” why didn’t God know in advance that Lucifer would become his enemy.
  • Or, from the other direction, why would God create an angel WHO HE KNEW WOULD BECOME HIS ENEMY? (That sure seems like a mistake to me.)
  • Being all powerful, why didn’t God “just snap his fingers and fix Lucifer”? (From the story it seems like Lucifer was more of a coequal with God… or even a competing other god.)
  • Unless, of course, Lucifer is “on the payroll”, and this is ALL “part of the plan”. (Which sure doesn’t make it seem like God had any intention to minimize OUR suffering. It makes the whole thing seem more like God woke up one day and said: “I’m bored. I think I’ll put the red ants in the terrarium with the black ants and watch them wipe each other out.”)
  • And then either are the obvious issues with Adam and Eve… Why would God put that tree IN THE GARDEN WITH THEM? Didn’t God know that they would eat the apple? Why did God let the serpent in? Or didn’t God know about that either? And why didn’t God just snap his fingers and fix the problem CAUSED BY HIS NEGLIGENCE?

There’s really only one way that this all makes sense…

If the HUMAN AUTHORS WHO MADE UP THE WHOLE STORY did so piecemeal, and ended up introducing a whole bunch of inconsistencies, and have been busily trying to ret-con the whole thing ever since.

(Now if only a real supernatural God existed so he could come along and straighten it all out.)
